What is a Ford Fiesta Titanium X?

A best-selling model for over a decade, this supermini gained popularity thanks to its sharp styling, dynamic driving experience and generous levels of equipment. Available as a three or five-door , it’s a hatchback that suits a wide range of motorists. Ideal from those buying their first car to young families needing a practical urban runaround alike.

The Titanium X trim marks a step up from the Titanium trim, which started as the top Fiesta trim. Hugely successful, the Titanium soon became the best-selling variant of the hatchback. By 2015, towards the end of the Mk7 Fiesta’s lifespan, the Titanium became a mid-spec option, with the Titanium X placed above it. The Titanium X added desirable extras such as keyless entry and part-leather heated seats, making it appeal more to those looking for added convenience and a touch of luxury.

The Fiesta Titanium X competes against other mid-range hatchbacks, such as the Vauxhall Corsa Elite Edition, Renault Clio Techno and SEAT Ibiza SE Technology.

Ford Fiesta Titanium X history

The Ford Fiesta was introduced in the mid-1970s, providing three-door hatchback practicality for families and young drivers. Instantly popular, it sold over one million units in its first generation and remained at the top of the sales charts for decades thereafter. Over the next 30 years, further generations of Ford Fiesta have added a five-door option , a higher quality interior and improved comfort. The later Mk5 and Mk6 editions offered more powerful engines, better performance, advanced technology and improved safety features.

It was during the Mk7 Fiesta’s lifetime, from 2008–2016, that the Titanium X trim made its debut. The Titanium trim was the top-spec variant until 2015. It was so popular that Ford moved it to the middle of the range and placed the Titanium X above it. The trim featured the same selection of efficient engine options – including the award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol and 1.6-litre ECOnetic diesel.

When the Mk8 Fiesta launched in 2017, the lineup was larger than ever, with the Titanium X remaining a mid-point between the entry-level Style and Zetec, and the high-end ST-Line. In 2019 the range was revised, with the Trend variant replacing the Style and Zetec. This put the Titanium X in the third-tier spot, beneath the ST-Line and ST-Line X variants.

The Fiesta’s final year of production was 2023, after which it was discontinued so Ford could focus on its electric and SUV offerings.

Where does the Ford Fiesta Titanium X sit in the range?

The Ford Fiesta Titanium X occupies a spot in the middle of the expansive Fiesta range. Sitting above the Titanium trim and below the ST-Line trim, it offers buyers a very well-equipped solution to everyday motoring.

What features and equipment does the Titanium X have?

The Mk8 Fiesta Titanium X trim boasts a wide range of features to optimise comfort and convenience. The exterior styling includes 17-inch alloy wheels with a Pearl Grey machined finish, as well as LED headlamps with daytime running lights. Tinted glass gives rear passengers more privacy, and the Quickclear windscreen clears ice in under a minute. Automatic headlights and wipers are also featured.

Under the hood the award winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine comes with either 99bhp or 123bhp, achieving 0-62mph in 10.8 and 9.4 seconds respectively. The 1.6-litre ECOnetic diesel provides 89bhp and manages 0-62mph in 12.9 seconds.

Inside are part-leather heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and climate control, creating a premium, comfortable ambience. Infotainment is delivered via the Ford SYNC 3 system with an eight-inch touchscreen. This incorporates a ten-speaker Bang and Olufsen stereo, DAB radio, Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Technology includes cruise control, keyless entry and start and selectable drive modes. These adjust the car’s parameters according to your preferences and the road conditions. There’s also a rear-view camera to help make parking and manoeuvres easier. Safety features such as lane-keeping aid, traffic sign recognition and driver alert – which detects signs of fatigue and warns you to take a break – are all installed for your protection.
