Introduction

What are new reg plate cars?

New reg plate cars are the newest cars available on the market.

Each year there are two new car registrations which take place in March and September. March 1st and September 1st are the dates on which they are released.

New cars registered between March 1st and 31st of August take the last two digits of the release year in their plates, for example: 'XY24 XYZ'. Those registered between the 1st of September and the 28th of February take the last digit of the year preceded by a '7'. The 7 represents the current decade: 2020 - 2029. For example, XY74 XYZ', 2030 - 2039 would therefore be XY84 XYZ.

How long does it take to get a new car delivered?

If you come directly to one of our dealerships you could be walking away with a new car on the same day. Subject to terms and conditions.

Getting a new car delivered with our Click and Collect service will take around one week. This is seven days from the day that the order is approved. You can keep in touch with our expert staff via live chat and WhatsApp for delivery updates and general information.

Are new car deliveries delayed?

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the deliveries of new cars were delayed significantly. This was a result of a shortage in semiconductors (more commonly known as 'chips') which are used in new cars.

Semiconductors are used in new cars as a way of analysing data from the engine including temperature and sensor data. This data is then used to adjust fuel injection and ignition for ideal combustion. This also helps in managing emissions.

Due to the shortage of these chips, many automotive manufacturers were left with significant order backlogs. These delays have since been reduced. Choosing one of our new cars available for immediate delivery will ensure you won't experience any delays.
