Leon Smith OBE, who started his tennis career at Clarkston Tennis Club, recently led the Great Britain team to victory in the Davis Cup, ending a 79-year wait with a convincing win over competitors in Belgium.
Leon was awarded an OBE in the 2016 Queen's Birthday Honours for services to tennis.
He has enjoyed an impressive run as captain, losing only two out of 15 matches, placing Great Britain number one in the world.
In addition to this, Leon also heads up the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) which places importance on the teaching and coaching of rising stars.
We’re proud to support such a talented athlete by providing him with a Mercedes-Benz GL350 BlueTec 4Matic.
When commenting on his recent trip to our head office at Hillington, Glasgow, Leon said;
‘It’s fantastic to be partnering with Arnold Clark, and I thank them for my amazing new car. The car will help me travel between events and carry out my various duties as captain of the British Davis Cup team. It was also great to see the new head office and to meet some of the team here at Arnold Clark.’
Russell Borrie, Group Franchise Director, was there to hand over the car to Leon, followed by an in-depth walkaround of his new car. Russell said;
‘Supporting a tennis star who hails from the same city as Sir Arnold Clark, and who has worked his way up in the sport is a real honour, It was a great pleasure to meet Leon and give him this fantastic car. I am sure it will be put to good use and I know he will enjoy the drive.’
