Vauxhall has redeveloped their popular family car, the Vauxhall Insignia, and is due to unveil it at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this Year.

Versions of the new model Insignia will be welcomed by the company car driver, as the cleanest model has CO2 emissions of as low as 99g/km and has a government average economy of 76.3mpg, bringing the model into the 14% BIK band for the 2013/14 tax year. This means that company car customers are getting a better value for a car with more kit and improved efficiency.

Vauxhall has highlighted that the overall aim of this new, updated model is to improve ride refinement and deliver a chassis with slick responses.

Whilst the exterior of the car has seen some small improvements and changes - including a redesigned front grille, new headlight design and revised shock absorbers to improve ride quality - it is the internal cabin that has seen the most improvements. Changes to the previous button-heavy console include:

  • A 4.2" colour control screen
  • Bluetooth
  • Climate Control
  • Cruise Control
  • Digital Radio

These changes come as standard and the new Insignia will be due for order (and available in showrooms) come October this year, hoping to compete with rival vehicles such as the Skoda Octavia and the Ford Mondeo.

Although they’ve made few changes to the exterior chassis, Vauxhall has certainly listened to criticism of previous ‘button-heavy’ interiors of the Insignia and improved these areas, showcasing a sleeker and cleaner cabin. They are also sure to please the fleet and company car drivers, who will see a lower list price for the vehicle without compromising on style and tech.
