England's most capped footballer, Fara Williams MBE, surprised a local amateur team with brand-new kit as part of Arnold Clark's Gear Up For Sport campaign.
The former Lioness, who won 177 caps for her country between 2001 and 2019, handed over some new kit, including footballs, training bibs and water bottles, to the team and spent time with the youngsters during a recent training session in Glasgow's southside.
The club was delighted with Arnold Clark's generosity and the chance to meet ex-Everton and Liverpool star Fara.
As part of Arnold Clark's Gear Up For Sport campaign last year, Europe's largest independent car retailer gave away 2,000 kits to youth sports teams aged 4-15 across the UK.
And Busby AFC head coach Gary Dickson thanked Arnold Clark for their support and in turn, helping grassroots football.
He said: 'The girls were absolutely delighted to meet Fara.
'We're massive advocates for the women's game. It's incredible to see how much it's grown on the back of the Women's European Championships last year, so there's no better person to have meet the team than Fara Williams. She really inspires so many young kids.
'The support from Arnold Clark has been absolutely fantastic, especially for a grassroots club like us.
'We rely on fundraising to get a lot of our strips and kits for the girls, so to have Arnold Clark supporting us is a massive, massive positive and we really appreciate it.'
Fara, who is also an Arnold Clark ambassador, added: ‘It's great to see the impact Arnold Clark's Gear Up For Sport has had on local communities.'
