Why choose Arnold Clark?
The Nissan 370z delivers a thrilling and fun driving experience, making it perfect for sports car enthusiasts. Coming with powerful engines and a top speed of 155mph, the Nissan 370z was designed to deliver a high-performance. Available as either a coupé or roadster, the model has an attractive design that makes it stand out on the road and on the market.
Nissan 370z updates and facelifts
Joining Nissan’s Z family in 2008, the 370z was the most powerful in the group. Designed with a driver-focussed interior, Nissan made sure that the cabin was snug, with intuitive controls, to help maintain an enjoyable driving experience.
In 2009, Nissan launched the roadster version of the 350z, adding a convertible soft-top roof and a subtle design change from the coupé version. On the inside, it featured premium leather heated and cooling seats and the Navigation pack added an infotainment system and integrated sat nav. The roadster variant used the same engine as the coupé.
In 2012, Nissan introduced a facelift for both the coupé and roadster. On the exterior, the 370z received some minor design changes including a large front grille and a new exhaust system, giving the model a sportier look. On the interior, the dashboard received a more minimalist design helping to keep it stylish and driver-oriented.
The Nissan 370z competes well in the sports car market, rivalling the Porsche 718 Cayman, the BMW Z4 and the Subaru BRZ. In comparison, the 370z offers owners good value for money as well as a refined performance. Both the roadster and coupé variants come with a range of powerful petrol engines.
Practicality and style of the car
Located in the cabin are several storage spaces that help to keep the Nissan 370z clutter-free. A good-sized glovebox and a cubby located under the central armrest can be used to store personal items such as sunglasses or wallets. There are also a pair of cupholders on the central console allowing for drinks or water bottles to be stored securely and within reach of the driver. Door bins are also decently sized, allowing for small personal belongings to be tidied neatly away.
The Nissan 370z has a 235-litre boot space, perfect for day bags for trips away or for filling up with the weekly shop. The boot is deep and has a wide opening, keeping belongings secure and making loading bags into the boot easy. The boot size is good for the size of the car, as a two-seater, and offers a larger singular space than the Porsche 718 Cayman which has a 150-litre rear boot.
With the extra space needed for the convertible roof, the roadster’s boot is reduced to 140 litres. This is still enough space for a couple of travel bags or packing in shopping bags.
To add to the vehicle’s comfort and performance, the suspension set-up helps to ensure a smooth ride, softening rough roads. Road and wind noise in the cabin is minimised, while the growl of the engine can still be heard adding to the car’s character. The car also corners well, making long sweeping roads a pleasure to drive on.
Running costs
As a premium sports car, the Nissan 370z falls into insurance groups 44 to 47. This is comparable to its rivals; the Porsche 718 Cayman falls into groups 42 to 50.
The 370z has an annual road tax of between £180 and £675, depending on the engine and trim of your chosen model. The Porsche 718 Cayman has a higher road tax of between £240 and £570, while the BMW Z4 has a road tax of £570.
How a used Nissan 370z drives
On iterations after 2012, a 328bhp petrol engine comes as standard on the 370z. Able to put down up to 363Nm of torque, this achieves 0 to 62mph in 5.3 seconds and comes with the option of a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic transmission. The engine has a fuel economy of between 26.6 and 26.9mpg.
For those looking for more power, the Nismo variant of the Nissan 370z comes with a more powerful 3.7-litre petrol engine. This can put down 339bhp and 371Nm of torque allowing it to achieve 0 to 62mph in 5.2 seconds. The Nismo engine returns 26.6mpg.

Features you can expect in a Nissan 370z
Interior
The Nissan 370z has a stylish and well-built interior. The two seats are carefully placed for even weight distribution, with the dashboard dials angled slightly towards the driver’s seat. The figure-hugging sports seats come in a range of premium materials, depending on the trim level, such as Alcantara leather, leather or cloth upholstery. Seats also come with four-way electronic adjustment allowing for both the driver and passenger to find the most supportive and comfortable position for them.
On the entry-level trim (370z), the dashboard features a radio setup with Bluetooth and Aux connectivity, while on the GT trim level and higher, drivers will find a seven-inch infotainment screen neatly incorporated into the dashboard. This comes with Nissan’s NissanConnect Premium system with integrated sat nav and DVD player.
Bluetooth and AUX connectivity enable hands-free calling and access to personal music libraries on smart devices. Playlists can also be downloaded onto the system’s 9.4GB hard drive. To add to the premium feel of the cabin, the infotainment system is connected to a BOSE sound system so drivers can enjoy their music in high quality. Located below the radio set-up or the infotainment system are the controls for other car functions including climate control and for controlling the temperature of the heated seats.
Technology
The Nissan 370z comes with several features to assist the driver on the road. These include automatic Bi-Xenon and LED headlights and automatic wipers, which turn on when they detect changes in light levels and weather conditions. Heated mirrors allow the driver to see clearly in poor weather by preventing them from fogging up in cold conditions. Keyless entry is also standard on the Nissan 370z.
Other features include cruise control, which helps the driver to maintain a set speed when on the motorway. This is available on the GT trim level and higher and can help to make longer journeys less tiring for the driver.
Safety
While the 370z hasn’t been tested by NCAP, Nissan has a very good reputation for manufacturing safe vehicles, and alongside the safety features on the vehicle, there is little doubt that the 370z is a safe and reliable model.
Safety features include an anti-lock braking system that helps to keep the driver in control of the vehicle by preventing the wheels from locking up. The model also features electronic stability control, which complements the anti-lock braking system by applying small amounts of braking force to get the car under control again in a sudden skid. Similarly, electronic brakeforce distribution adjusts the distribution of the braking force to match the car’s speed and the road conditions to prevent skidding.
Other safety features include six airbags located around the cabin to protect the driver and passenger and active headrests, which protect occupants from whiplash. In the event of a collision, the pop-up bonnet activates, helping to reduce the impact force of the car on pedestrians in the event of a collision.
