What is the Peugeot 2008 Allure Premium?

A compact SUV with practicality, sophisticated styling and a range of engine options, the Peugeot 2008 launched into a growing market in 2013. This five-door vehicle is the French brand’s entry-level SUV, providing young families with plenty of space while remaining small enough to handle urban streets and daily commutes with ease. It also offered a great value solution to those looking for the benefits of an SUV without high running costs.

The Allure Premium trim is a mid-range option, building on the standard equipment offered by the Allure grade, which predated it. Its exterior is marked out by larger alloy wheels, a panoramic roof and black roof rails, while the interior features additional cabin storage including cup holders and a storage box beneath the central armrest. It also boasts added technology for a safer and more convenient drive.

The demand for compact SUVs has remained high since the early 2010s, so the Peugeot 2008 has many rivals. Competitors for the Allure Premium trim include the Renault Captur Techno, Hyundai Kona N Line and Kia Stonic 3.

Peugeot 2008 Allure Premium history

The Peugeot 2008 went on sale in July 2013 and marked the manufacturer’s first step into the compact SUV market. It was launched with a wide range of engine options to help it appeal to a variety of buyers. These included petrol engines for urban motoring and diesel engines for long-distance driving. The model was available only in front-wheel drive form, and the four trims comprised Access, Active, Allure and Feline, which was later replaced with the GT-Line.

The Allure Premium trim was announced in 2018 as a permanent range addition, shortly before the Mk2 2008 arrived. Based on the mid-tier Allure, it provided a host of upgraded features including a seven-inch colour touchscreen with connected 3D navigation, voice control and a reversing camera. This edition also featured a Cielo panoramic glass roof with an electric blind, enabling buyers to enjoy more natural light without being dazzled by the sun.

The Allure Premium trim comes with two engine options, the 1.2-litre PureTech petrol with 81bhp and the 1.6-litre BlueHDi diesel producing 99bhp. The former accelerates from 0-62mph in 13.5 seconds, with the latter reducing this time to 11.3 seconds.

Where does the Peugeot 2008 Allure Premium sit in the range?

The Allure Premium trim was introduced in 2018 as a step up from the existing Allure trim. Positioned below the GT Line trim, it featured much of the same equipment. As the name suggests there is a more premium and luxurious feel to the cabin, as well as a smarter exterior. In 2023, the 2008 lineup was streamlined and the Allure Premium variant was discontinued.

What features and equipment does the Peugeot 2008 Allure Premium have?

The Allure Premium trim has a more commanding on-road presence compared to the variants that sit below it in the lineup. This is delivered by wheel arch extensions, roof bars and 17-inch alloy wheels. This trim also stands out thanks to a panoramic glass roof, a rear sports spoiler and front and rear scuff plates.

Step inside and the 2008 Allure Premium is fitted with Oxford Black trim, leather accents and ambient lighting. The roof has an electric blind to control the amount of sunlight entering the cabin. The seven-inch touchscreen provides access to DAB radio, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, sat nav and a reversing camera. When fitted with the 1.6-litre BlueHDi diesel engine, the variant also has Peugeot’s GripControl functionality, which enables you to select from a range of driving modes including Standard, Snow, Mud and Sand.

There’s space for five in the cabin, as well as a 434-litre boot for luggage. Standard safety measures include autonomous emergency braking, a driver attention alert system, lane keeping assistance and traffic sign recognition.
