Our latest used Škoda Superb cars in stock now

The Škoda Superb is an executive car that provides drivers with high performance, practicality, and exceptional value for money. The Superb is available as a hatchback or estate, allowing you to choose the model that best suits your needs.

Whichever you choose, you’ll enjoy a handsome exterior and a well-built interior that make the Škoda Superb a great choice for those who do lots of driving – whether that be regular commuting, long trips away, or simply for busy day-to-day family life.

The Škoda Superb hatchback proves to be a compelling competitor to rivals such as the Peugeot 508, Vauxhall Insignia and the Mazda6.

Škoda Superb updates and facelifts

Launched in 2001, the Superb has undergone several facelifts. The Mk2 was released in 2008, and in 2015 the Mk3 was launched, bringing the estate version to the market.

The Mk3 has received some updates to ensure it continues to capably meet the demands of modern drivers. In 2019, the Superb received subtle design changes, such as a new front grille design and LED headlights. In 2020, the iV hybrid engine was added to the range of engines available on a Škoda Superb.

The Škoda Superb is available with petrol, diesel or hybrid engines for both the estate and hatchback versions.

Practicality and style of the car

The Škoda Superb offers drivers plenty of space for transporting bulky items, with one of the largest boots in its class. The model has 660 litres of boot space, which can easily be expanded to a vast 1,950 litres by folding down the rear seats. Similarly, the hatchback provides 625 litres of space, expanding to 1,760 litres with the rear seats folded down. Both the estate and hatchback provide more space than the Ford Mondeo, which offers 525 litres with the estate model and 550 with the hatchback.

Loading and unloading items into this large boot is made easier with the wide opening and low lip. Along with other functional features such as luggage hooks for securing bags and detachable luggage dividers, the boot can also come with a false floor for storing valuables or safety equipment safely out of the way. Other handy features available on certain trims include storage nets, an electric tailgate and ŠKODA’s Virtual Pedal, which allows you to open the boot by simply waving your foot under the rear bumper when you have your hands full.

Although the boot size decreases slightly in hybrid versions to make space for charging cables and the battery, plenty of room remains available. In both the hatchback and estate hybrid the boot capacity is 485 litres, or 1,610 litres with the rear seats folded down.

Running costs

Both the Škoda Superb estate and hatchback fall into insurance groups 12 to 33. Road tax for can be up to £570 a year depending on the engine type and trim level. This is about average for its class, with the Volkswagen Passat falling into the same insurance groups and sharing the same road tax bracket.

How a used Škoda Superb drives

The Superb is available with petrol, diesel or hybrid engines so you are sure to find the engine performance and fuel economy that fit your needs.

The petrol range starts off with a 125bhp 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine that can reach 0 to 62mph in 9.6 seconds. This engine returns between 41.5mpg and 47.9mpg. It was discontinued in 2018 as a stand-alone petrol engine but is still used in the hybrid engine.

Next is the 1.5-litre TSI engine, which can put down 148bhp and achieves 0 to 62mph in 9.2 seconds. The 1.5-litre engine has a good fuel efficiency, returning between 43.5mpg and 44.8mpg, and is available in either manual or automatic transmission.

A range of 2.0-litre petrol engines are also available that offer high performance. With automatic transmission, the 187bhp 2.0-litre TSI engine does 0 to 62mph in 7.7 seconds and returns between 38.2mpg and 39.2mpg.

Available on iterations before 2019 and on higher level trims, such as the Sportline and SE L Executive, the 220bhp 2.0-litre TSI engine completes 0 to 62mph in 7 seconds. This engine can return 45.6mpg.

Finally, the 268bhp 2.0-litre TSI engine achieves the quickest 0 to 62mph in just 5.3 seconds. This engine has good fuel efficiency, returning between 33.2mpg and 34mpg, and comes with four-wheel drive and a DSG automatic gearbox.

Three diesel engines are also available on a Škoda Superb. The 2.0-litre TDI engine can output either 147bhp or 188bhp. These engines achieve 0 to 62mph in 9.1 and 7.9 seconds respectively. The 2.0-litre TDI engine also has superior fuel economy, returning between 33.6mpg and 72.4mpg. The 147bhp engine can come with either manual or automatic transmission, while the 188bhp engine comes with a DSG automatic gearbox.

Until 2020, ŠKODA offered a 118bhp 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine that offered around 67mpg and came with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox. It could achieve 0 to 62mph in 11.3 seconds.

Hybrid engines are also available on a Škoda Superb. A 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine is paired with an electric motor to put down a combined 215bhp and 400Nm of torque. It can reach 0 to 62mph in 7.8 seconds. The hybrid engine comes with a six-speed automatic gearbox and can return between 46.5mpg and 48.8mpg. This engine can also travel up to 35 miles on pure electric.

Features you can expect in a Škoda Superb

Interior

ŠKODA has paid close attention when designing the interior to give it an executive, modern appeal. High-quality materials are used throughout the cabin and on the dashboard and the Škoda Superb also comes with a host of technology and safety features to satisfy the demands of modern drivers.

Passengers will also find plenty of legroom and headroom to ensure comfort on long journeys. The suspension on the Škoda Superb smooths out rough roads, meaning passengers won’t feel many jolts or bumps. Premium trim levels enhance this further with ŠKODA’s adaptive suspension system, which allows drivers to choose different modes to adapt the suspension to the road ahead.

Wind, road and engine noise are all hushed in the interior, which makes driving on motorways and busy roads that bit more pleasant for everyone. For extra comfort, some trims come with heated seats.

There are plenty of storage spaces for you to stow away personal items and keep the cabin looking neat. In the front there are a couple of cup holders with special grips to prevent spillages, a large glovebox, a storage space in the centre console and deep door bins for keeping drinks bottles. In the rear, a pair of cup holders fold out from the armrest in the centre, and there are map pockets on the back of the front seats as well as door bins on both sides of the car.

Other features on a Škoda Superb include electric windows, air conditioning, cruise control, power-folding mirrors and LED headlights with auto high beam. In the interior, ambient LED lighting helps to increase the upmarket feel of the car.

Technology

One of the first things you will see when getting in the cabin is the central infotainment screen. Depending on the trim you choose, this screen can either be 8 inches or 9.2 inches wide. It is intuitive and easy to control by either the touchscreen, a rotary dial or, on the 9-inch screen, a series of shortcut buttons.

The infotainment system can also come with the Columbus navigation system, or the Amundsen system, which quickly navigates you to your destination by providing clear graphics and instructions that also appear on the digital instrument cluster. This navigation system is available on higher trim levels such as the SportLine Plus with the 9.2-inch screen.

The infotainment system also comes with a DAB radio, smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth and Smartlink+ for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. This allows you to access your personal library of music and contacts for onboard entertainment and hands-free calling. Some trims, such as the SE Technology and SportLine Plus, offer Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity so that you can easily stay connected to the internet.

There is also ŠKODA’s Virtual Cockpit, which can digitally display dials such as the speedometer, rev counter and fuel gauge. The display can be set up to suit your individual driving needs, as it can display different information in different ways.

Other features include an optional phone or tablet mount on the back of the front seats so that rear passengers can comfortably watch films on the go. There are also charging points for your entertainment devices, which is especially useful on long journeys. On the flagship Laurin & Klement trim there is tri-zone climate control that allows rear passengers to adjust the temperature independently to that in the front of the vehicle.

The Škoda Superb comes with a range of driver-assist features. These include hill-hold control, lane assist, blind spot detection, rear traffic alert, adaptive cruise control that automatically slows down and speeds up even when in a traffic jam, and a traffic sign recognition system that alerts you to local speed limits and speed cameras.

Safety

The Škoda Superb scored a full five stars in the Euro NCAP safety rating. The Superb also scored highly on occupant protection tests, scoring 86% for both adult and child protection.

Safety features on a used Škoda Superb can include electronic stability control, which helps to keep you in control in the event of a collision. City Emergency Brake – ŠKODA’s automatic emergency brake – helps to avoid collisions with pedestrians and other objects when in urban environments by detecting oncoming obstacles and automatically applying the brakes if necessary.

You can also find used Škoda Superb cars available with a multi-collision brake system, which controls the car after a collision to avoid further collisions.
