What is the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line?

Arriving on the UK market in 2012, the R-Line is a high-end trim level for the universally popular Volkswagen Tiguan range. One of the most likeable compact SUVs on the market, the Tiguan is spacious, practical and powerful. Its broad build and modern design set it apart on the roads. Throughout its generational updates, it has maintained its popularity in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

VW Tiguan R-Line history

The Tiguan was introduced to the UK in 2008, while the R-Line trim was added in 2009. As one of the Tiguan’s higher-level trim options, it builds upon the popular foundations of other trim levels with more premium tech equipment and driving assistance, as well as some attractive external upgrades.

What equipment does the R-Line have?

While the entry-level Life trim has 18-inch alloys, and the more practical Elegance trim ups this to 19 inches, the R-Line wields 20-inch ‘Misano’ alloys. This, paired with its uniquely sporty exterior, makes for a handsome and powerful-looking SUV. Front-on, it looks larger than some of its counterparts with a chunky bumper.
