Combining the aesthetics of an SUV with the practicality of an estate car and the capacity of an MPV, the Dacia Jogger impresses at every level. Winning the Best Value Car for 2013 in the Parkers New Car Awards makes the Dacia Jogger a major competitor when looking for a hybrid seven-seater estate, with its well-known affordability.

With extraordinary space inside and the ability to carry seven adults comfortably, Dacia has transformed its class with its incredible value-driven family car formula. Dacia introduced the Jogger in 2020, and it’s the biggest car they make. Mk2, released in 2022, has three trims: Essential, Comfort and Extreme. It is a similar size to the Volkswagen Golf Estate but has added height thanks to its stepped roof. With more space inside, it can be most likened to the Škoda Karoq.

The Dacia Jogger is hugely versatile and will suit a variety of needs, whether that be transporting a large family, a big group of friends, or large equipment and luggage. The removable and lightweight back seats means that this car can suit adventurers of every kind.

There is a choice of two petrol engines, the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged engine with a six-speed manual transmission gearbox or the 1.6-litre hybrid engine with an automatic gearbox.

Featuring extensive standard technology and equipment across all trims, you’ll be surprised how much the Dacia Jogger offers. The vehicle reinvents what a family SUV looks like with great value for money at its heart.

Practicality and style of the car

This show-stopper car is most impressive for its space; with seven seats it’s one of the strongest contenders in its class. Boot space is no exception, as even with the extra two seats in the back there are 160 litres available. When all passenger seats are occupied, you’ll still be able to fit shopping bags, backpacks and carry-on suitcases inside. With the third-row seats folded, you’ll reveal an impressive 599 litres of space.

Due to the back seats’ lightweight, it's easy to take them out and gain a completely flat surface for any larger loads you may have. Folding the second-row seats frees up an impressive 1,807-litre capacity. You’ll have just over one meter in width and two metres in length to play with. If that’s not enough, even on the mid-specification trims and above, Dacia provides modular roof bars with a capacity of 80kg, easily carrying a roof box or bike rack.

There are two ISOFIX anchor points in the middle row to ensure your tiniest travellers are safe and secure. With a braked towing capacity of up to 1200kg and a 1.0-litre petrol engine, you’ll be able to tow a two to four-berth caravan, a mid-sized trailer, or even jet skis.

Running costs

With regular maintenance and attention, a used Dacia Jogger continues Dacia’s ethos of keeping costs down. Vehicle tax is between £170–£180 annually from 2022 onwards and this model sits between 13 to 16 in insurance groups.

How a used Dacia Jogger drives

The Dacia Jogger Mk2 comes with two engine types: the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and the 1.6-litre Hybrid 140.

The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine comes with a six-speed manual gearbox. This three-cylinder engine produces 108bhp and 200Nm of torque. It achieves 0-62mph in 11.2 seconds and delivers a speedy performance.

The second engine option from the Dacia Jogger is the 1.6-litre Hybrid 140. It was introduced in 2023 and works in combination with two electric motors. This engine is punchier than the turbocharged petrol and appeals to a broader scope of drivers with its automatic gearbox and 140hp. The transition between petrol and electric is quiet and won't interrupt your driving experience. The gearbox works well, giving low-end torque and responsive acceleration when required.

Features you can expect in a Dacia Jogger

Interior

The Dacia Jogger’s interior features and comfort are impressive, even on the entry-level trims. A combination of high-quality cloth upholsteries ensures you ride comfortably, while the hard-wearing and wipeable plastic interior make it easy to keep clean.

Passengers are taken care of, with ample legroom and 23 litres of internal cubbies. Scenic journeys can be enjoyed by everyone thanks to the Jogger’s clever seat-positioning design. The second row of seats are set higher than the front and the third higher than the second, ensuring everyone has a view through the front window.

Technology

With the Mk2 entry-level, Essential trim, the infotainment set-up includes a robust phone mount and USB port. Using car mode or a specific app will allow you to connect to the infotainment screen for music and navigation control. You’ll find seven to eight-inch infotainment screens with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and built-in navigation as you go higher through the trim options. All systems are clearly displayed with easy-to-use software and controls.

Safety

While the Dacia Jogger hasn’t yet received a rating from the Euro NCAP, it performed well in the actual crash test section of the procedure, meaning it received more than adequate adult and child occupant ratings. It's not short on safety equipment with six airbags, an autonomous emergency braking system, a blind-spot warning system and rear parking sensors.

The entry-level trim comes with manual air conditioning to ensure passenger comfort. Rear parking sensors, cruise control and automatic headlights are offered to make driving that bit easier. An automatic braking system is provided to increase driver and passenger safety. For in-car entertainment, a media control system with a modern infotainment display is also supplied.

Dacia Jogger Comfort

On its exterior, the Comfort trim includes modular roof rails, body-coloured handles, 16-inch steel wheels and electric heated door mirrors. While the handles and steel wheels add a sleek finish to the Jogger, the roof rails and electric door mirrors enhance this car's practicality. Inside, you’ll find a soft-feel steering wheel, chrome-copper interior, a central armrest, automatic air conditioning and an eight-inch infotainment system.

Dacia Jogger Extreme

The Dacia Jogger Extreme is the Mk2’s flagship trim, replacing the previous Extreme SE trim. It has copper mirrors, copper highlights on the roof bars, fog light surrounds, 16-inch gloss-black alloy wheels and patterned doors. Inside, there is MicroCloud upholstery, dashboard trim with contrasting stitching, copper air vents and door trim highlights.
