The Vignale is the top trim on the popular compact SUV, and was released in 2017 as part of the Kuga’s Mk2 trim range. With a revised outer style, a luxurious new interior and smart technology, the Vignale’s upmarket features add a premium finish to the SUV. It is a competitor to other compact SUVs such as the Nissan Qashqai, Peugeot 3008 and Renault Kadjar.

The Vignale comes with a choice of 1.5 and 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines, along with front and four-wheel drive. The Ford Kuga Vignale also sits high on the ground thanks to its 19-inch alloy wheels.

Many of the Vignale’s leading features are in the interior, where quilted leather seats and a leather-wrapped dashboard add to an exceptional design. There’s also Ford’s most advanced voice recognition technology, which allows you to engage the model’s infotainment system while keeping your concentration on the road.

Ford Kuga Vignale updates and facelifts

The Ford Kuga Vignale was first released as part of the Mk2’s trim range. The Mk2 first launched in 2012, with the Vignale trim being added with the 2016 facelift.

Practicality and style of the car

The Ford Kuga Vignale has a length of 4,629mm, height of 1,680mm and width of 1,883mm. This makes it 55mm taller than the Nissan Qashqai and 56mm taller than the Peugeot 3008, for greater headroom.

The Ford Kuga Vignale also offers a reasonable amount of boot space. With the rear row of seats up, there is 456 litres of space, but by folding them down, that increases to 1,603 litres, which is average for this vehicle class. For extra storage, you’ll find an additional compartment under the boot floor for keeping items out of sight. There is also a low loading lip, making it easy to load heavy items.

The Ford Kuga Vignale’s size and powerful engines mean it is a suitable model for towing trailers. It has a maximum braked towing capacity of up to 1,500kg, which is more than enough for most medium-sized trailers and caravans.

Running costs

Compared to other premium compact SUVs, a used Ford Kuga Vignale offers good running costs. Its insurance groups range from 15 to 21, which is typical for a compact SUV. The Kuga Vignale also qualifies for a typical annual road tax of up to £290, with most engine configurations falling into a rate of £180 or £35.
