We have 311 Ford Puma cars in stock!
As a compact SUV that’s as fun to drive as it is practical, it’s easy to see why the Ford Puma is an enduringly popular choice. Re-launched in 2019 via a slick promo video, the reinvented Puma has garnered plenty of praise since. 2023 marks the Ford Puma’s fourth consecutive year winning the WhatCar? Sports SUV of the Year award, marking it as one of the most popular and celebrated SUV models in the UK.
Ford Puma updates and facelifts
The post-2019 model retains nods to its 1990s coupe predecessor, most notably with its iconic high-set headlights that add a touch of character. The Ford Puma has since evolved into a compact, 5-door crossover SUV with ample boot space and great fuel economy – with some trims also offering sporty performance.
The Ford Puma has the same chassis as the ever-popular Ford Fiesta, which offers an agile and fun drive, and the likeness continues on the inside with many of the same high-tech features too. ST-Line and ST-Line X trims come packed with handy features like cruise control, parking sensors and a Quickclear heated windscreen that de-mists in seconds.
All available trims are front-wheel drive. Most come with petrol mild hybrid engines, with some performance-focused petrol-only trims. With several trims available, a used Ford Puma is an attractive choice for anyone looking for a practical, spacious car that’s great to drive.
Practicality and style of the car
Ford is one of the most popular car brands in the UK and has earned a reputation for its reliable vehicles. The Ford Puma was designed with practicality in mind. Depending on the model and trim you choose, the Puma can tow between 750–1,100kg. Inside, there’s 456 litres of boot space, which is more than competitors like the Peugeot 2008 and Volkswagen T-Cross. 80 litres of that space comes from the innovative Megabox – a waterproof storage compartment under the boot floor complete with a drainage plug. It’s the ideal space for any wet or muddy shoes and it increases your vertical storage capacity to over a metre when needed. With the seats down, the boot space goes up to 1,216 litres.
Running costs
Most used Ford Pumas come with six-speed manual gearboxes, with an optional seven-speed automatic available in some trims. In terms of insurance, entry-level trims are in group 11, while more mid-range, performance-focused trims are in group 15. The sportiest ST trim is in group 22. Road tax for all engines and trims is £180 per year.
How a used Ford Puma drives
Sporty, slick ride or family-friendly fuel economy? With a wide selection of engines, there’s a Ford Puma to fit most drivers. Its 1.0-litre versions offer excellent mpg, with the petrol EcoBoost achieving an average of 52.3mpg. If maximum fuel efficiency is your top priority, the 1.0-litre mild hybrid version uses regenerative braking to charge the battery as you come to a stop. The result is an impressive 51.4–54.3mpg, making it an excellent option for fuel-conscious drivers.
A 1.0-litre petrol mild hybrid engine is found in most trims and offers between 125bhp and 155bhp and 210Nm of torque. If you’re looking for more power, consider the flagship ST trim. The sportier 1.5-litre doesn’t offer excellent fuel economy, achieving around 41.5mpg, but it does treat you to greatly boosted performance. The ST packs a surprising performance punch with a 1.5-litre, 200bhp petrol engine. The 125bhp and 155bhp 1.0 litre engines weren’t made for maximum speed, achieving 0-62mph in 10 and 8.9 seconds respectively. The ST’s 200bhp engine achieves 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds. To complement its high performance, the ST also has a 25% faster steering response and 17% larger brakes than the standard Puma.

Features you can expect in a Ford Puma
Interior
Made for long rides taken in spacious comfort, the Ford Puma has loads of handy features. It’s a well-equipped car for drivers seeking practicality and space at a reasonable price, with great storage and features that enhance the driving experience. The high-up driving position offers a great view of the road, making short city dashes and long country drives that bit more scenic.
Technology
Thanks to its compact size and rear parking sensors as standard, the Ford Puma fits into spots that larger cars can’t. Models released after 2021 include a rear parking camera and self-parking assistance to make parking even more of a breeze.
Most Ford Pumas will also assist you with driving – which is ideal if you spend lots of time on the road. Exact features differ between trims, but most are equipped with a blind spot information system and adaptive cruise control.
Many used Ford Pumas have a SYNC 3 infotainment system, which is equipped with a touchscreen. It’s ready for smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so drivers can safely accept calls and control in-car entertainment. What’s more, the sat nav in the SYNC 3 infotainment system will ensure you easily get from A to B.
With a variety of optional extras available, many used Ford Pumas are likely to come with additions like a panoramic sunroof or tow bar.
Safety
As you would expect, the Puma has plenty of safety features designed to keep you and your passengers from harm. All models come with autonomous emergency braking, as well as rain-sensing wipers, tyre pressure monitors, cruise control and a lane-keeping aid.
A standard 2019 Ford Puma also has a five-star Euro NCAP safety score. With an adult occupation protection score of 94% and child occupant protection score of 84%, the Puma achieved a place in the top half of NCAP’s safety ranking. Following changes to NCAP’s safety rating scheme, the Puma was awarded a strong 4 stars, with an adult occupant protection score of 75% and child score of 84%, in NCAP’s most recent test in 2022.
Trims available on the Ford Puma
Ford Puma Titanium Design
The Titanium Design trim is the Puma’s entry-level trim, but still has impressive features including massage seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, heated door mirrors and windscreen, LED rear lights, an 8-inch infotainment touch screen, air conditioning, keyless start, cruise control and five selectable driving modes for different road conditions – normal, ECO, sport, slippery and trail.
Ford Puma Titanium First Edition
The Titanium trim offers the same features as the Titanium Design, with the addition of rear parking sensors, electronic climate control, satellite navigation, lane keep assist and auto emergency braking. It also adds heated seats, parking sensors and an audio remote that allows you to operate the system while driving.
Ford Puma ST Line Design
Like the Titanium, the ST-Line trim features 17-inch alloy wheels. It also enjoys heated door mirrors with puddle lamps, as well as sports suspension, giving it a sportier ride and earning it a reputation as one of the best small SUVs to drive available on the market today. You’ll find satellite navigation and a 12.3-inch digital panel with the ST-Line trim.
Ford Puma ST
On 19-inch alloys, the flagship Puma ST trim is all about performance. With its centre of gravity counterbalanced for stability and stiffer suspension for greater cornering ability, the ST was designed for powerful, controlled driving. Inside, the ergonomically designed seats have expanded height adjustment features, with lumbar adjustment, to maximise occupants’ comfort. This trim gives you Ford Performance seats, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and front parking sensors.
