Our latest used Renault Arkana cars in stock now

The Renault Arkana is a compact crossover coupé SUV, boasting stylish looks, a top-quality interior and excellent engine efficiency. First brought to market in 2019, the Arkana’s practicality and reasonable costs make it a challenger to other models, such as the Citroën C4 and Toyota C-HR.

The Arkana’s all-round capabilities are powered by its range of hybrid and full-hybrid engines that help the model achieve excellent range while keeping running costs low. If you’re looking for a good amount of storage, the Arkana’s practical design makes it a good choice. It has plenty of boot space for all types of luggage and bags, with ample head and legroom for everyone in the cabin.

The Arkana has a good range of technology and features that make it an even more appealing model. And with a range of three trims to choose from; the Evolution, Techno and RS Line, it’s easy to find the right Renault Arkana for your needs.

The Renault Arkana was launched in Europe in 2020. It borrows the powertrains of Renault’s smaller SUVs while offering only hybrid and electric engines, making it a standout model in the manufacturer’s range. It also has substantial appeal thanks to its practical and premium design, helping it rival upmarket SUVs for a more attractive price.

Practicality of a used Renault Arkana

As a coupé SUV, the Arkana has a sloping roofline that gives the body an aerodynamic and compact profile. It is an exceptionally practical model with some of the best storage and boot space in its class. With all seats up, it offers 480 litres of boot space, which can be expanded to 1,263 litres by folding the seats down. This is more than the Renault Captur and Toyota C-HR’s space, with these models offering 422 and 358 litres respectively with the rear seats up. With the seats down, the Toyota C-HR has 1,102 litres.

Passengers also have plenty of storage cubbies to take advantage of. There is a good-sized glovebox, cupholders and two spacious cubbies in the front for your phone and handheld accessories. All four door bins are deep and are perfectly shaped to hold large water bottles.

The Arkana is also larger than many of its competitor models and has a length of 4,568mm and width of 1,821mm – making it 341mm longer and 24mm wider than the Renault Captur. It also has a height of 1,576mm, so there’s reasonable headroom to be found throughout. There’s also decent legroom so tall passengers will stay comfortable in the Arkana.

Running costs

A Renault Arkana’s insurance premiums range from group 15 to 19. For comparison, a Citroën C4 ranges from group 9 to 22 and Toyota C-HR from 14 to 22.

The Arkana’s efficient hybrid engines also mean the model qualifies for an annual road tax of up to £180.

How a used Renault Arkana drives

The Renault Arkana comes with a select choice of two engines. The first is a mild petrol hybrid – the TCe 140. This engine is powered by a small battery under the front seats, connected to a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. It generates 134bhp, returns 48.7mpg and accelerates from 0-62mph in 9.8 seconds. This engine is available with a dual-clutch, six-speed automatic transmission.

There is also the E-Tech 145 full hybrid engine. This engine generates 143bhp by combining a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor. It accelerates from 0-62mph in 10.8 seconds and returns 57.6mpg. The engine is also available with a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Depending on the trim of the model, you will have the choice of three different driving modes. The Pure mode allows the Arkana to cover up to 80% of urban journeys on electric power alone, while the Sport mode combines the power and torque of both hybrid and petrol engines. Hybrid mode allows the model to switch seamlessly between both, automatically pushing your fuel economy as you drive.

Features you can expect to find in a used Renault Arkana

Interior

The interior of the Arkana is stylish and filled with soft-touch and hard-wearing materials. Across the dashboard and centre console, a glossy plastic gives the cabin a robust feel, this extends to the buttons and switches on your multi-functional steering wheel. The steering wheel features a synthetic leather.

The Arkana can seat five adults, though the back three seats are better suited to three children if you’re travelling a long way. The Arkana’s high seating position gives the driver a commanding view of their surroundings thanks to the large front windscreen and narrow A-pillars. The cloth seats also offer reasonable comfort over long distances.

Depending on the trim, there is a 7 to 9.3-inch touchscreen on the centre console, which contains the Arkana’s infotainment system. This system’s easy-to-use menus allow you to switch easily between the model’s entertainment options, which include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, as well as the sat nav.

There is also a seven to ten-inch digital instrument cluster, which displays your key drive information. This customisable screen allows you to check your speed, distance driven, remaining charge and music streaming at a glance.

Technology

Among the Arkana’s range of smart technology are an electric parking brake, cruise control and automatic lights and wipers that respond to rain. For help backing into tight spots, there are also rear parking sensors and lane keep assistance for safer motorway drives.

Depending on the trim, you can also find a blind spot warning and cross-traffic alert system, which notifies you of any approaching vehicles as you pull out of a parking spot.

Safety

The Arkana has the maximum five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. It was awarded an adult occupant safety score of 96% and a child safety score of 83%. You will also find two ISOFIX points on the rear outer seats.
